K47 airstrip

Ashiya Machi,  circa 1951,  before most
of the town burned.  A letter  from one
of  the  old  squadron vets  who was in
Japan  recently  described  it  as  a  very
modern city now with a highway going
past the main gate. The beach at the end
of the  runway  is now  public  and  the
place  not recognizable to us  oldsters.
